What can you do to help? How can you help birds that are in need or help those who work with birds in trouble? You can be involved and commit a small part of your life to volunteering with organizations that are already care for rescued birds.
Just a few hours a week can make a difference. You will find many friends, feathered and human, who need your support and help.

We are thrilled that you would like to volunteer to work with us at Florida Exotic Bird Sanctuary, Inc.
Before submitting an application please read all of the information provided below to be sure you will be comfortable working with special needs and behaviorally challenged birds. All Volunteers must commit to at least 6 hours per week, at least a week a month. Volunteers are expected to show up on time, and stay the entire time they commit to. Volunteer work is DIRTY and hard, cleaning cages is always first on the list of things to be done. Socializing with birds is not always easy, or fun. Every volunteer takes a risk of being bitten and must sign a form releasing Florida Exotic Bird Sanctaury, Inc. from liability. Volunteers often are needed to do things that involve no interaction with birds, such as building, lawn maintanence, land cleaning and building cages. Volunteers who do transport for us must show proof of drivers license and insurance. Volunteers who have birds at home must show current health testing for birds.. Volunteers may also be asked to assist with administrative work. Working with birds is very LOUD some time or all the time! Volunteers must be at least 18 years old (15-18 years) only with parental consent. If you feel that you can handle all of the above, want to work with birds, and have the time in your life to offer to Florida Exotic Bird Sanctuary, Inc., then fill out the volunteer application! We always need new friendly faces!
