was established because we saw a great need for a permenant solution for pet birds, unadoptable or non-resaleable parrots. Our focus has been to build large flight aviaries that have other birds to bond too, automatic misters, automatic water system, heaters, fans, lots of branchs and toys to chew, and enough space for these birds to be as close to being in nature as possible.
We certainly understand how hard a decision this is for you to give up a "family member", we take that into consideration and is this why the owner of FEBS meets everyone personally before you place your bird with us and gives you a guided private tour of the facility, answering any questions, and will do all of the follow up email and calls to you.
If we are able to place your bird and you wish for him/her to live their lives out with us, we ask that you help support your bird through our sponsorship program. We ask that you join the Membership which is 250.00 for the smaller birds, conures, quakers, Cockatiels, Hahn's and 500.00 for Macaws, Cockatoo's and Amazons, Greys ect.... We have tried to estimate a fair figure of what you would be spending on food and toys for your bird if you were to keep them with you.
This donation/membership allows you to "stay in the loop" in your birds life with us. Including follow up emails or phone updates, pictures and visits. If you do not wish to join it is not mandatory for placing your bird but please understand that the cost involved in keeping us up and running is very expensive and as we are non-profit we rely on donations to continue to help and support these parrots!
ESTATE PLANNING is strongly recommended for your bird! Contact us about willing your parrots to FEBS and providing for them for the long term.
We also ask that you remember to send toys, large bags of nuts in shell and any other treats you can think of periodically, if possible!

1) HOW MANY BIRDS ARE IN YOUR CARE, DO YOU HAVE OTHER SPECIES LIKE MINE?
2) WHAT KIND OF BUILDINGS DO YOU HAVE TO ACCLIMATE MY BIRDS INTO A OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT? QUARANTINE ROOM?
3) ARE YOU A 501-C-3, NON PROFIT ORG? CAN YOU POST THE LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE FROM THE IRS?
4) ARE YOU LICENSED THROUGH THE FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION, WHO REGULATE ANIMAL RESCUES. CAN YOU POST THAT LICENSE?
5) ARE YOU FILING AN ANNUAL REPORT AND WHO ARE YOUR OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS?
6) ARE YOU BREEDING?
7) DOES YOUR FACILITY HAVE A OFFICE AND AMENITIES LIKE ELECTRIC AND RUNNING WATER?
8) WHO IS YOUR VET? YOU WANT TO CALL THAT VET AND MAKE SURE THEY HAVE HEARD OF THE RESCUE.
9) DO YOU HAVE A VOLUNTEER STAFF?
10) DO YOU ADOPT THE BIRDS OUT?
11) WHAT IS THE EVACUATION PLAN IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY?
12) CAN YOU SEE PICTURES ON THE SITE OF THE FLIGHT CAGES THAT INCLUDE THE BIRDS THAT ARE HOUSED IN THEM?
We believe that if a Sanctuary is ligit they should be able to answer these questions.
