Boarding Services Available
We have built a new 12 x 30 Boarding Facility at The Sanctuary because of the high demand for this service and to help raise funds for the permenent residences. It is equipped with heat and air flow for the birds that are used to being inside. We can board weekly, monthly or yearly. In some cases we have found that bad habits such as screaming and feather picking has been resolved by placing the birds around other birds in this beautiful climate controlled but still outdoor environment. Your bird/birds must be vet checked before bringing them and should come with their own cage but cages are available as well.  These 3 birds B&G Macaw, African Grey and Cockatoo, are boarding with us while their Mom is serving in Afganistan They have always lived together and are doing beautifully, they love attention and she has the peace of mind that they are safe in her absence. Even though they are acclimented to living outdoors in the cooler months we will "blanket the cage and hang a heat lamp for their warmth.
This room was just completed and landscaping is underway but is a very nice but secure large wired in room that can house about 20 cages. We have since closed off the sides and have roll up tarps on both ends so in the cooler days it is toasty inside, also have heaters inside, fans with misters will be placed on one end in the summer months.
